MEC Directors are part of a working board which is hands-on and directly involved in all aspects of activity from answering emails to raising money. Will you have time to (check each item to agree):

attend monthly Board meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month,

contribute two social media posts per month,

attend the majority of our events and trainings,

plan and execution of events,

commit to personal work through reading, participating in educational opportunities, and listening to leaders in the areas of DEIB and anti-racism?

We will be intentional to incorporate a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences to improve decision making and leverage the positive impacts of Monroe's diversity.

ADVOCACY

As a collaborative, we use our privileges, our platforms, and our positions to support one another in the work of creating equity, inclusion, diversity, and belonging in our community. If you have experienced a situation that you need to talk through, have identified an equity issue that you would like to start working to change, or if you have witnessed racism, homophobia, transphobia, or other forms of marginalization of people by our city government, in schools, or out in the community but fear retaliation from co-workers or peers, please email us or fill out this form.
