To focus our efforts in building an equitable community the Monroe Equity Community has three pillars chaired by Board Members and fueled by volunteer commitment and passion. For information please go to each pillar's page.

City

We focus on the local government entity to ensure Monroe has equitable municipal policies and laws.

Community

We focus on building and supporting community through events, education, and gatherings that increase awareness of equity, foster inclusion and belonging, and where we can share and celebrate our diversity.

School District

We focus on the Monroe School District in pursuit of equitable policy, curriculum, and culture for staff, faculty, families, and students.

A large diverse group at a demonstration for Black Lives. Signs include one that say "Say Their Names" with many names written too small to see. Other signs say "End Racism Now" and "I am a man." One shirt in the crowd says "Never Again." Because the crowd is so large, it's hard to read the other messages of antiracism.
